Dear Dance Enthusiast,
I have wonderful news to share with you!
You, your family and your friends can continue to enjoy young Marie’s adventures in the Land of Sweets with her beloved Nutcracker at the Paramount Theatre. You can again enjoy watching the beautiful Sugar Plum Fairy and her handsome Cavalier dance with the rest of the wonderful and enchanting characters in the Kingdom of Delights.
The Ronn Guidi Foundation for the Performing Arts (RGFPA) has the very special opportunity to return my production of Nutcracker to the Paramount Theatre stage this December. This exclusive production would continue a 34-year tradition of presenting this favorite holiday ballet in the heart of Oakland, with four performances – two matinees and two evening shows – December 22, 23 and 24. Live music, provided by members of the Oakland East Bay Symphony, would accompany each show.
Yet, I will need your assistance to make this happen.
This one weekend of Nutcracker performances will cost $200,000 to present, and you can help. Your tax-deductible gift will help provide promising semi-professional and professional dancers with the opportunity to hone their artistic dance skills, not to mention bring joy to our community this holiday season.
When I founded the RGFPA as a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization in 2001, I sought to nurture and groom talented young dance artists for the professional stage and to preserve my 34 years of choreographic dance legacy at the Oakland Ballet Company.
